I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. Over the past 30 years, I have served in public education as a teacher, vice principal, principal, director, and assistant superintendent. At every step, I was eager to learn more — and to put that learning into practice to become a more effective educator and leader. The more I discovered, the more I wanted to innovate curriculum, instruction, culture, and climate to make a meaningful difference in children’s schooling experiences.
When I was designing Personalized and Blended Learning models, the pandemic shifted everything overnight. Suddenly, education was thrust into remote mode, forcing us to rethink how learning happens. What became clear is that the changes we made during that time will extend far beyond Covid-19. Today’s curriculum must be relevant, engaging, and designed for deep, application-based learning. Students need ownership of what and how they learn, with meaningful connections to their daily lives.
That experience reinforced my belief that we must innovate — integrating technology, creativity, imagination, and social-emotional learning into every classroom. SEL skills aren’t just “extras”; they must be explicitly taught, modeled, and practiced as part of everyday instruction.
And so, with my laptop running at full speed and my faithful dog Balboa (“Bo”) by my side, Bo Knowz Learning was born. What started as an idea on my couch has grown into a mission: to equip educators, parents, and leaders with the tools to create thriving schools and families.
Thank you for visiting Bo Knowz Learning. I look forward to serving you!
Warmly,
Dr. Kimberly Honnick

I had the privilege of working with Dr. Kimberly Honnick during her time as a principal in Newark Public Schools, and her coaching skills are truly exceptional. Kimberly's ability to guide school leaders through complex challenges is unparalleled - she combines deep knowledge with a compassionate, solution-oriented approach. I am preparing to reenter the world of education as an elementary school teacher after many years in another career. Viewing Slide into SEL's content and activities is helping me better understand the social and emotional needs of my future students and how I can meet them where they are so we can successfully journey together through everyday learning.
I connected with Dr. Honnick via LinkedIn at the onset of the pandemic in March of 2020. We have stayed in touch consistently ever since. I am currently in my 27th year of teaching high school social studies at a public school in Connecticut. My school has embraced the concept of SEL lessons and/or programs with our students. Additionally, I have used SEL goals through my teacher evaluation process. Kim's ideas about the importance of SEL, her vision for Bo Knowz and her passion to support teachers and students is second to none. She is the preeminent voice on this topic and I stand by all she has done. Kim is constantly asking for feedback and she strives continuously to make her product even better. She is a true friend to me and a trusted colleague and I recommend her product with zero reservations.
I am driven by a simple truth: when children are supported, entire communities flourish. My passion for teaching, learning, and personal growth fuels everything I do, and my mission is to help every child feel seen, valued, and empowered
